FRANCES BARR GOES TO HER REWARD Death Come as Relief Last Thursday, After Many Months' Suffering Mrs. Frances Barr passed away at her home in this city last Thursday night, March 6, 1930, after an extended illness of cancer and complications at the age of 63 years, 1 month, and 8 days. Frances Drucilla Page was born in the state of Wisconsin, January 26, 1867, where she lived until she was fourteen years of age, when she came with her parents to Iowa. The family lived in Iowa and South Dakota, and in the year 1888 Frances Page was united in marriage with Frank Barr. They were the parents of seven children, three sons dying in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Jones, passed away about five years ago. Two daughters and one son remain, as follows; Mrs. Will Nall, of Akron; Mrs. Charles Oberg, of Beresford, S. D., and Hayes Barr, of Akron. In addition to these there remain to mourn her going several grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also three brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Hanson, Mrs. Mary Von Zandt and Lee Page, of Beloit, Wis.; Wm. J. Page and Mrs. Cynthia Titas, of Sioux City, and James Page of Hot Springs, S. D. To the surviving relatives the sympathy of the community is extended in their bereavement. Mars. Barr united with the Methodist church early in life and continued in the fellowship of that church during her life. She was a good and faithful mother and friend., always ready and willing to serve others and she will be missed by family and a large group of friends. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church here Saturday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Wilson Gow. A quartet composed of Mrs. J. C. Kennedy, Dr. Clara Stoutenburg, Ed Stinton, and Dr. G. H. Wooton, with Mrs. Paul Wendt at the piano rendered appropriate music. The pallbearers were Frank Swanson, Del Waterbury, H. Shoulberg, E. O. Thorson, Boyson Ross, and W. W. Ross. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, beside her husband, who passed away several years ago. Akron Register Tribune Thursday, March 13, 1930 Akron, Iowa
