Description	:	Frances Ellen Hall was born in Ohio, February 7, 1848, and when eight years old moved with her parents to Randolph County, Indiana. March 24, 1861, she was married to Joseph Schreckengost. From Indiana they moved to Iowa in 1866 and after being here for three months returned to Ridgeview, Indiana. In the spring of 1869 they returned to Keosauqua, Iowa, and after living here something less than two years located on the farm adjoining town, which was ever afterwards their home. Read More	Frances Ellen Hall was born in Ohio, February 7, 1848, and when eight years old moved with her parents to Randolph County, Indiana. March 24, 1861, she was married to Joseph Schreckengost. From Indiana they moved to Iowa in 1866 and after being here for three months returned to Ridgeview, Indiana. In the spring of 1869 they returned to Keosauqua, Iowa, and after living here something less than two years located on the farm adjoining town, which was ever afterwards their home. At the age of thirty she united with the M.E. church and was a faithful member as long as she lived; was also an active member so long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Keosauqua Rebeka Lodge and the Royal Neighbors. In all of these organizations she was faithful to all her obligations and was a highly esteemed sister. After a long, lingering illness she passed away at her home July 17, 1921, aged 73 years, 5 months and 10 days. She is survived by her husband and three sons, W.W. of Wright City, Mo.; C.H., of Des Moines, Ia., and J.F., of Keosauqua, Ia. and twenty grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Dr. John W. Hall and Dr. W.M. Hall, both of Portland, Ind. All the children and Dr. John W. Hall were present at the funeral, the other brother being detained at home by the sickness of his wife. Mrs. Schreckengost was truly a christian woman and a home-maker; hence she was a loving wife and an indulgent mother, and was highly esteemed by all her co-workers in church and lodge. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, July 20, Rev. J.C. Caughlan being in charge; burial was in the Purdom cemetery.
