Read More	Frances was the daughter of David Allison and Elizabeth Perry. She married Justin Churchill on November 22, 1869 in Carroll County, Iowa. They were the parents of Thomas P (1871, Sylvia M Everest), Frank, Harry, Louella E (1881, Henry Schulze), Raymond Mark 1888), and Anna (who died in infancy). Coon Rapids Enterprise - Friday, August 14th, 1925 - Mrs. Justin Churchill died Sunday afternoon at her farm home north of town. She had been a sufferer for months from cancer but patiently bore her affliction and faced the end with unusual courage. She was a woman of strong personality. She was executive and managed her farm successfully. She was a good friend and neighbor. She will be greatly missed by her old neighbors and her passing is a deep grief to the afflicted relatives. Mrs. Churchill, with her husband, came to Coon Rapids about 45 years ago, locating on the Churchill homestead six miles north of town where they improved the land, built their home and reared, their family of children — four sons and one daughter, one child dying early in life, and one, son, Harry, meeting a violent death from burning some years ago, Ray and Mrs. H.D. Schultze and Frank living in the community and Thomas at Sioux City. Mr. Justin Churchill died in 1913. He was a veteran of the civil war and also for a time was stationed on the western front in the Dakotas and took part in a number of battles with hostile Indians. Thus has passed another pioneer father and mother. The ranks of the old settlers like that of the Grand Army, are thinning rapidly, and but few are left. Frances L. Allison was born in Rockingham county, Virginia, October 5, 1849, and died at her home near Coon Rapids, August 9, 1925. She was united in marriage to Justin Churchill November, 1869, he having passed away twelve years ago. To this union six children were born, two having preceded her to the better world. She leaves to mourn her death four children —Thomas, Ray, Mrs. Schultze and Frank and fourteen grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers and other relatives and many friends. She was a dear and loving mother, a kind friend and neighbor. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H.G. Hicks of Scranton. Many were present to pay their respects to their departed pioneer settler, wife and mother.
