Description	:	Joseph Jerry Sevcik was born on July 29, 1891. He was the son of Frank Jr. and Marie Dolezal Seveik. He married Frances Mary Zmolek on January 28, 1912. Frances was born near Toledo on October 15, 1890, the daughter of Anthony and Julia Zamastil Zmolek. Frances had four brothers, James, Frank J., Peter Milo, and Anton, and five sisters, Julia (Sr. M. Philomena), Mary (Mrs. Wm. Husak), Anna (Mrs. Joe L. Dvorak), Agnes, and Barbara (Mrs. Fred E. Dvorak). She received her education and grew to womanhood in the Toledo-Clutier area. He married Frances Mary Zmolek on January 28, 1912. Frances was born near Toledo on October 15, 1890, the daughter of Anthony and Julia Zamastil Zmolek. Frances had four brothers, James, Frank J., Peter Milo, and Anton, and five sisters, Julia (Sr. M. Philomena), Mary (Mrs. Wm. Husak), Anna (Mrs. Joe L. Dvorak), Agnes, and Barbara (Mrs. Fred E. Dvorak). She received her education and grew to womanhood in the Toledo-Clutier area. The couple farmed in the Clutier community. The Seveiks had seven children: Adolph Joseph, Joseph L., Paul D., Lillian Rosie, Mary Ann, Milo Anthony and Philomena Mary. Adolph was born March 20, 1914. He attended rural schools (Carroll Nos. 4 and 5) and also the Clutier High School. On October 30, 1945 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama, Adolph married Vera Evelyn Maiden. Vera, born at Tama on December 6, 1923, the daughter of Clifford Leroy and Lillian Petersen Maiden. She attended rural schools in Otter Creek and Columbia Townships. She graduated from the Tama High School in 1941. She taught in Tama County Schools for five years. They are the parents of Edwin, Robert, Jean Ann (Mrs. Jack) Ferguson, Verna Mae, and James. They have ten grandchildren: Lynne, Lisa, Shannon, and Jeffry (Edwin's), Jennifer and Megan (Robert's), and Brian, Kevin, Steven and Jason Ferguson. Adolph farms in Carroll Township, Section 15. This farm has been in the family since 1912. Adolph has been a member of the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service township committee for 30 years. Joseph L., born February 28, 1917, married Vera Ellen Kovarik. They have seven children: Deborah, Gary, Carla, Michael C., Mark, Joseph Robert and Camelia (Cammy). Paul, born January 11, 1919, married Marie Polka. They had one son, Craig. Paul died on May 27, 1963. Lillian Rosie, born August 30, 1921, married Richard Joseph Wacha. They have three children: Donald, Virginia (Mrs. Marvin Hias), and Stanley. Mary Ann and Milo Anthony were born July 10, 1924. They attended school in Carroll Township and graduated from the Clutier High School in 1942. Milo is a veteran of World War 11, serving for two years in the Army Air Corps. Milo married Helen Florence Suchanek, youngest daughter of Edward and Barbara Prusha Suchanek, on May 4, 1949. Helen, born March 11, 1923, graduated from Tama High School in 1940, then taught in rural schools and later taught second grade at the Clutier Elementary School. They have three daughters: Connie (Mrs. William) Kaldenburg, Cathy (Mrs. Robert) Rush, and Carol (Mrs. Tom) Seaton. They have six grandchildren: Tiffany and Gretchen (Connie's); Amy and Aric (Cathy's); and Kimberly Anne Frimmel and Jason Michael Seaton (Carol's). Milo farms in Section 8 of Carroll Township. Mary married Marvin Ewayne Keller on June 28, 1948. Marvin, the son of Alex John and Rosa Ethel Ranfeld Keller of Victor, Iowa, was born at Deep River, Iowa. They have seven children: Dwight, Terry (Mrs. Wayne) Schafbuch, Betty, Dean, Norman, Janice (Mrs. Jim) Burnham, and Keith. They have seven grandchildren: Dorothy, Ethan, and Ashley (Dwight's); Eric and Brett (Terry's); and Jerry and Johanna (Betty's). Mary taught schools in Carroll Township before her marriage. They live at rural Marengo. Philomena, born February 11, 1926, married Lawrence Cibula. They have three children: Arlo, Vickie, and Cheryl. Frances enjoyed gardening and raising flowers which she used to decorate the altars at her church. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church. She died July 29, 1970. Joseph died December 31, 1974.
