Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, at the Pierson Methodist Church with Rev. John Battern officiating. Her body was donated to the Mayo Foundation at Rochester, Minnesota. Mrs. Treptow, the former Frances Ruth Miller, was born March 2, 1919, at Correctionville, the daughter of Harvey and Blanche (Wenbourne) Miller. Mrs. Treptow, the former Frances Ruth Miller, was born March 2, 1919, at Correctionville, the daughter of Harvey and Blanche (Wenbourne) Miller. She attended school in Correctionville and the Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska. She taught in rural schools and at Spencer, Iowa. She married Melvin Treptow on October 28, 1946, at Rock Branch. They moved to Pierson where she did substitute school teaching. She was a member of the Pierson United Methodist Church where she was active in her church circle. She and Melvin did volunteer mission work from Arkansas to Alaska. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Pierson and a charter member of the Kingsley Swingers Square Dance Club. She also held many offices in the Women's Club in Pierson. Survivors include her husband, a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Jay Moeller of Somers, Iowa, and a brother, Ray and his wife Mary Jane Miller of Correctionville; two sisters, Mrs. Hessel (Lorraine) Roorda of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Mrs. Dr. Bill (Joann) Cameron of Keokuk, Iowa, and a granddaughter, JoAnne. She was preceded by her parents and a son, Alan. ∼Wife of Melvin.
