She was born July 20, 1892, at Raboun, Bohemia, daughter of Joseph and Anna Cejka Stodola. Frances came to America in 1909 with her brother John and began working in the Traer area. In 1912 she was married to Frank Slatinka Jr., in Traer and to this marriage two sons were born, Ludwig who died as a boy and Edward who died in 1976. After Frank's death in 1920, Frances continued to make her home in Traer and on Oct. 10, 1922, married Louis Kuzela and they farmed near Clutier and later near Buckingham where their son Leonard was born. In 1941 Frances and Louis retired to Traer and after Louis's death in July of 1951, Frances continued to make her home at 713 Second Street. More recently, Frances had become ill and had been residing at Sunrise Hill Care Center at Traer where she died on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Frances was preceded in death by her husbands, two sons, three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her son Leonard of Cedar Rapids and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ilo Slatinka of Hudson, as well as four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pall bearers were Bill Hogan, Leonard Vajgrt, Earl McDonald, Rick Crabtree, John Novak, and Johnie Stepanek. Mrs. Mary Novak was in charge of the Mass cards and flowers and Mrs. Donald McLean was the organist.
