Description	:	VMI Librarian, wife of Theodore Millard Camper CAMPER, Frances Whitesell, 85, of Lexington, died Thursday, August 30, 2001, in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Mrs. Camper was born on September 27, 1915, in Rockbridge Co., and was a daughter of the late Daniel Webster Whitesell and Edna Cash Whitesell. She was retired from the Virginia Military Institute after 47 years during which time she served as Acquisitions Librarian. Mrs. Camper was born on September 27, 1915, in Rockbridge Co., and was a daughter of the late Daniel Webster Whitesell and Edna Cash Whitesell. She was retired from the Virginia Military Institute after 47 years during which time she served as Acquisitions Librarian. She was a member of the Manly Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years, was an active member of the W.M.U. and also was a trainer at the Eagle Erie Baptist Assembly. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace Jacob Whitesell, Lawrence Webster Whitesell; and one sister, Mildred Jane Whitesell. Mrs. Camper is survived by her husband, Theodore M. Camper, Lexington; two sons, James Theodore Camper and wife, Linda, Rutherfordton, N.C., William Robert (Bob) Camper, Lexington; grandchildren, Jamie Camper, Spindale, N.C., Wesley Camper, Forest City, N.C., Deidre Camper, Forest City, N.C., Daryl Camper, Rutherfordton, N.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah Camper and Wesley Scott Camper, II. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2001, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery, Lexington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Manly Memorial Baptist Church, 202 S. Main Street, Lexington, Va. 24450 or the Neriah Baptist Church, 7 Borden Grant Trail, Buena Vista, Va. 24416.
