LONG Was born April 27th, 1843, in Pickaway county (sic), Ohio; died at Fort Morgan, Colorado, on March 22nd, 1918. Mr. Long came with his parents to Des Moines county (sic), Iowa, in 1854, where he continued to reside until 1873, when he removed to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, where he resided (with the exception of four years in Kansas) until March of last year, when he moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he remained until his death. LONG Was born April 27th, 1843, in Pickaway county (sic), Ohio; died at Fort Morgan, Colorado, on March 22nd, 1918. Mr. Long came with his parents to Des Moines county (sic), Iowa, in 1854, where he continued to reside until 1873, when he removed to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska, where he resided (with the exception of four years in Kansas) until March of last year, when he moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he remained until his death. He was married to Lizzie Rausher on January 5th, 1865, who died at Nelson, Nebraska, February 23rd, 1913. To this union seven children were born of whom four survive: M.F. Long and F.W. Long of Nelson; Mattie C. Phipps who lives at Twin Falls, Idaho; G.B. Long who lives at Kimball. Mr. Long was again married to Mrs. Lavina A. Norton on January 25, 1914, who survives him and lives at Fort Morgan, Colorado, and who was unable because of sickness to be present at the funeral. Mr. Long was a member of the Presbyterian church and was faithful in his attendance and support. He always took an active interest and an active part in the public affairs, having served on the Town Board of Nelson during its early history and later served two terms as County Judge of Nuckolls County. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and faithfully served his lodge in all of its offices. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church in Nelson on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. A.J. Dressler conducted the service. The Odd Fellows attended in a body.
