Funeral services will be conducted at the Marsh and Powell mortuary at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Dr. W. B. Spaulding officiating. Burial will be in Belt Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Joscelyn was born at Andes, N. Y., Feb. 8, 1856. He was a member of a large family of whom only Clay Joscelyn of Grants Pass, Ore., survives. He learned blacksmithing and carpentry as a youth and practiced for many years in Michigan. He married Ethel Gardner in Michigan and four children were born to them. Archie Joscelyn is the only surviving child. The family came to Montana in 1890, settling at Great Falls where Mr. Joscelyn, as a contractor, constructed many of the early buildings, including the old opera house. He worked at Butte and Anaconda as general foreman of carpenter work on the Washoe smelter. He became a cattle rancher near Belt in 1903 and retired there in 1929. At that time Mr. and Mrs. Joscelyn moved to Helena and he came to Missoula in 1943, residing at the home of his son. Other survivors include three grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.
