He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son David of Dearborn, Michigan; three daughters, Rose Marie Embry of Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Henry (Rita) Huffman of Louisville, Ky., and Regina Brockman of Santa Cruz, Calif.; one brother, Richard of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Millie Samms and Mary Donaldson, both of Sacramento; and two grandchildren. The Lawrence Locomotive, Thursday, April 11, 1985 Funeral services were held Monday April 8, 1985 for Francis Earl Brockman at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Lawrence, Ne. The Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated by the Very Rev. Charles Gergen. Rosary and Scripture services were Sunday evening at 7:30 with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery with full military rites. Servers for the Mass were John Reiman, Kristopher Kotinek, Mike Herbek and Dan Svoboda. Pallbearers were nephews Robert Kotinek, Patrick Reiman, Michael Reiman, Thomas Herbek, Donald Herbek and a cousin Al Ballweg. Francis, the son of Al and Katherine Brockman was born in Lawrence, Ne. on December 23, 1920 and passed away April 5, 1985 after a brief illness at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 13 days. When 18 months old he and his parents moved to Goltny, Okla. In August 1933 they returned to Lawrence where Francis graduated from Lawrence High School in 1939. He attended Business College in Lawrence, Ne. In Washington, D.C. he married Ursula Osburn. He worked with the Military at the Pentagon for 8 years; spent 6 years as Division Manager of the Westmoreland Sterling Silver Company and was employed with the Postal Department in Kentucky. His wife passed away in 1968. Since 1963 Francis was self-employed designing and manufacturing a wide variety of souvenir jewelry which was sold in 15 states. He operated his wholesale business from his home in Lawrence. Francis married Helen M. Kotinek on December 26, 1978 and they have made their home in Lawrence. He had been in the Armed Forces during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Kent-Kailey Post #45. Francis will be greatly missed for he was a most cheerful person and his gentle, loving manner will always be cherished. His pleasant personality, optimistic outlook on life, and gentle humor are traits his family will always remember. Surviving are his wife, Helen; one son David of Birmingham, Michigan; 3 daughters Rosemarie Embry of Lexington, Ky; Rita Ann Huffman of Louisville, Ky and Regina P. Brockman of Santa Cruz, Calif. and 2 grandchildren, also a brother Richard and sisters Mary Donnelson and Millie Samms all of Sacramento, Calif. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Lawrence and Gilbert and a sister Bernice. All of his children and one grandchild attended the funeral rites.
