He was 39 years, 11 months and 20 days old. at the time of his death. Francis was born at Ada, Kansas, February 8, 1919, the son of John and Ethel White. He was a member of the Ada Baptist Church. He attended elementary school and high school at Ada, where "Skeeter," with his fun-loving nature, was popular with young and old. After attending Kansas State College one year and working a short time in Wichita, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1942. He spent four years in the service, and since that time had worked and lived in Little Rock, Arkansas; Denver, Colorado; and Wichita. On April 21, 1942, he was married to Carol Scarth of Wichita. He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Barbara Faye; one son, David Lee; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John White of Minneapolis; a brother, Deane White of Ada; and two sisters, Mrs. Russell Scheibler of Bennington and Mrs. Robert Belt of Fort Worth, Texas; also, other relatives and countless friends. Funeral services were held Friday morning, January 30, at the Downing Mortuary in Wichita, Kansas, with the Rev. Claude Schuereman officiating. Henry Harvey sang "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Peace in the Valley." Pallbearers were Jack Shafer, Kent Shafer, Gene Ethridge, Larry Williams, Bill Stewart and Don Kruse. Graveside services were conducted by the Rev. James McIntosh of Ada at the Ada cemetery Friday afternoon.
