Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the St. Lawrence Community Church with Pastor John Rasko officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Reck Funeral Home in Miller. Francis Leo was born December 23, 1921 to Vern and Ethel (Phillips) Marshall at Vayland, South Dakota. He grew up around Vayland and attended school in Vayland and St. Lawrence. Francis married Dorothy Carter on May 8, 1946 in Pierre. He was a truck driver for several years and drove a county maintainer for 26 years before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed his horses and drove them in several parades. Francis also enjoyed belonging to a camper club and spent several winters in Mesa, Arizona. Grateful to have shared in his life was his wife, Dorothy of Miller; two daughters, Sharon (Bob) Lunne of Dallas and Karon (Merle) Stevens of Wessington Springs; three grandchildren: John (Leslie) Stevens of Wessington Springs, Shari (Jeff) Hannahs of Sioux Falls and Duane Lunne of Dallas; four great-grandchildren: Wyatt Stevens, Rylie Stevens, Brock Stevens, and Harley Dawn Hannahs; one brother, Lyle (Evelyn) Marshall of Rapid City; one sister-in-law, Rosella Marshall of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother-in-law, Alvin Ehrich of Arizona; closest nephews, Lyle (Pam) Williams and Ron Williams; nieces, Carol and Nancy Williams; and other nieces and nephews. Proceeding him in death was his parents; four sisters: Eva, Lily, Vi and Florence; and three brothers: Aldrich, Wayne and Alvin. Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Francis' arrangements.
