Scott was born near Cambridge, Guernsey county, Ohio, 25 February 1845 and died at Oxford, Nebraska on 9 April 1928. In 1857 he moved with his parents to Warren County, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Aurel Paine, 2 February 1874, and to this union were born five children, George of McCook; Charlie of Oxford; Walter, of Bertrand; Mabel Miller of Wiggins, Colorado and one daughter who died in infnacy. Scott was born near Cambridge, Guernsey county, Ohio, 25 February 1845 and died at Oxford, Nebraska on 9 April 1928. In 1857 he moved with his parents to Warren County, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Aurel Paine, 2 February 1874, and to this union were born five children, George of McCook; Charlie of Oxford; Walter, of Bertrand; Mabel Miller of Wiggins, Colorado and one daughter who died in infnacy. They lived in Henderson county until the fall of 1879 when on account of ill health, they with their two small sons came in a covered wagon, locating on a homestead seven miles north of Oxford, where they resided until the death of his wife four years ago. Since that time he has made his home with his son Charlie. In an early day he united with the church and his life was always quiet and sincere with a purpose to meet the highest ideasl. He suffered a good deeal with poor health but with little complaint and great fortitude. He was highly respected by all who knew him and especially his old time neighbors. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Highland church, conducted by Dr. E.K.
