She came to Iowa from Indiana when 18 years of age. About 3 years later on October 24, 1883 was married to Frank L. McCauley at Monroe, Iowa. Read More	Mrs. McCauley is Laid to Rest Frances Olivia Hedricks was born in Rush County, Indiana, on December 18, 1861 and died in Des Moines, Iowa on Set. 4, 1941, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 16 days. She came to Iowa from Indiana when 18 years of age. About 3 years later on October 24, 1883 was married to Frank L. McCauley at Monroe, Iowa. To this union were born 5 children: Edith, James, Frank, Raymond and Lina, now Mrs. Guy Adams of Des Moines. Two of her children, Edit and James have preceded her to the great beyond. After some years in Jasper County, the couple moved to Polk County in 1896, settling in the neighborhood of Mitchellville. Thirty of the forty five years in this county have been spent in Mitchellville, sharing it's interests and activities. Mrs. McCauley became a member of the Methodist church while living in Jasper County, moving her membership to Centennial Church at Ivy and later transferring her membership to the Methodist church in Mitchellville where she belonged at the time of her death. She was always very active in the church and community work of her neighborhood, having served as president of the Ladies Aid Society and was always active in it's work. Mrs. McCauley is remembered as a woman of fine traits and character. In the church she will be greatly missed by those who enjoys her sweet spirited leadership, delightful association and cooperation with her many activities throughout the years. As sickness came on and her strength waned, she bore up patiently under such afflictions as life brought her, fully and trustingly submitting herself to the providence of God. She became seriously ill last Thanksgiving, and has been in increasingly failing health for a number of months. The last month of her life was spent at Anderson Nursing Home in Des Moines where on August 29th she suffered a decisive sinking spell and lingered this life until she dropped into that last peaceful sleep. Mrs. McCauley leaves besides her husband and children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors to mourn her passing. After a short service at her home in Mitchellville, funeral services were held at the Mitchellville Methodist church Saturday, September 6, 1941, at 2 p.m., Rev. H.W. Munster conducting the service. Mrs. Luther Porter and Mrs. H.W. Munster furnished beautiful music and Mrs. Asa Lee, Mrs. Doris Killinger and Mrs. Charlie Walters cared for the many beautiful flowers. Pallbearers were: Bert Craig, C.M. Craig, Leo Perry, Chas. Walters, Robert Snedeker and Garrett Klein. Internment was in the Mitchellville cemetery. Altoona Herald 11 Sept 1941
