Carder, died within three days of each other, death being attributable to the ravages of scarlet fever. Dorothy Mae was born July 17, 1921, and died December 7, 1923. Francis Pershing was born August 18, 1918, and died December 10, 1923. Private funeral services were conducted in each instance at the grave by Rev. Farner. Francis Pershing was born August 18, 1918, and died December 10, 1923. Private funeral services were conducted in each instance at the grave by Rev. Farner. The illness of both children was brief, being little more than a week and although every effort was made by medical men to prolong the lives of these beloved children, the effects of the febrile contagion was unable to be combated successfully. The great monster, death, comes in many forms, his destruction to promote and here he has entered a home in the form of the dreaded disease, Scarlet Fever. He has breathed the fevered breath upon the little forms, too frail to withstand his grip. With the aid of loved ones and physicians, they battled hard, but lost the fight. Ah, not so, it has only passed from our presence to a Victorious Climax, where little Dorothy Mae and Francis Pershing are crowned as Victors over the world, the flesh and the devil. Today they are Angels. Today in the presence of God, their little spirits are beckoning to us. Oh, that we might be able thru the blood of Jesus to pass into eternity as pure , as spotless, as triumphant as they. The loss of the only two children of the family is deplorable and to Mr. and Mrs. Carder is extended the sympathy of the many friends in the community.
