He was born October 25, 1924 in Logan Township, Auglaize County, Ohio; the son of the late Harry A. and Clara M. Bowsher Burtchin. On November 23, 1947 he married Joan Evon Stover, who died November 10, 1995. Mr. Burtchin retired in 1990 from Russell Orchard Company. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran. He was born October 25, 1924 in Logan Township, Auglaize County, Ohio; the son of the late Harry A. and Clara M. Bowsher Burtchin. On November 23, 1947 he married Joan Evon Stover, who died November 10, 1995. Mr. Burtchin retired in 1990 from Russell Orchard Company. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran. He was a charter member of the Forest Park United Methodist Church where he was a lay leader, sang in the choir, had been a Sunday school teacher, and served on many committees. He was also a member of the Ft. Shawnee Lions Club, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Survivors include 2 daughters Tanya J. Snider and Tryna L. (Dean) Brown; 5 grandchildren Jodi (Aaron) Long; Kerri (Mark) Tracy; Matthew (Megan) Snider; Stacee (Chris) Kalla; Cory (Ellen) Brown; 10 great grandchildren Madelynn, Gabe, Megan, Marissa, Bridget, Clare, Norah, Kyle, Jenny-Lynn, and Jack. He was preceded in death by a son Todd W. Burtchin, who died January 9, 1991; a son-in-law David Snider who died in 2001; 5 brothers Donald, Harry, Howard, Eugene, and Richard Burtchin; and a sister Elnore Jennings. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
