He married Louise Neu on 3 August 1904 in Templeton, Iowa. They were the parents of Frank, Paul, Carl, Helen, Ruth Margaret (born 9 March 1921), and John. Oct 9, 1936 - Carroll Daily Herald - Frank B. Nockels, sr., 64, prominent business man of Carroll, died suddenly at 9:45 Monday night in his apartment at the Burke hotel. Death was the result of a heart attack which he suffered Sept. 18. Since that time he had been unable to leave his room, but friends understood he was recovering and were shocked to hear of his sudden passing. The body is at the Huffman funeral home awaiting arrangements for the funeral. Mr. Nockels, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Nockels, was born at Fort Atkinson, Ia., in 1872 and at the age of 4 years came to Carroll with his parents and spent the remainder of his life here. He was united in marrige to Miss Louise Neu of Templeton, a sister of E.N. Neu of Carroll. To this union six children were born: Frank, jr., Paul, Carl, Helen and Ruth, who survive and John, who was killed in an airplane crash in 1928. John was selling monocoupe airplanes and was teaching a prospective buyer to fly when the accident occurred near Butte, Mont. Mr. Nockels attended the parochial schools in his early days and then went to the public schools. He was a student at Notre Dame for about two years and then returned home to enter the clothing business of his father. Later he became a member of the firm and after the death of his father took his oldest son into partnership and became the senior member in the firm. The Nockels Clothing Company is one of the odest establiahments in Carroll. In addition to the children, the only surviving relative is a brother, Louis Nockels, an attorney in Los Angeles, Calif. His mother died in 1911, his father in 1926, a brother, Jacob, in 1923, another brother, John H. in 1927 and his wife in 1930. Last July Mr. Nockels went to California with his two daughters. Misses Helen and Ruth. They joined his son, Paul Nockels, who was established at Beverley Hills. After getting his daughter located in college and school, Mr. Nockels returned to Carroll to spend a few months looking after business matters and took an apartment at the Burke. He had only been home about two weeks when he was taken ill. Miss Helen, Miss Ruth and Paul Nockels will arrive Tuesday night by airplane and Carl Nockels will come from Atchison, Kan. Funeral services for Frank B. Nockels, sr., prominent Carroll business man, who passed away Monday evening, were held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at the St. Lawrence church. The Rev. Father Joseph Cordes officiated at the requiem mass. Burial was beside his wife in the family lot in Ss. Peter and Paul's cemetery. As a mark of respect to the deceased, all business establishments were closed from 8:45 to 10 o'clock Friday morning.
