He died at his home in Elberon on Thursday morning, September 22, 1949 at 3:00 o'clock, a t the age of 85 years. He was married to Mary Upah October 3, 1884 at Norway, Iowa. There were two children born to them: Julia who died in infancy, and Mrs. Emma Novak, of Elberon. They began housekeeping on a farm near Chelsea, where they lived for nine years. He died at his home in Elberon on Thursday morning, September 22, 1949 at 3:00 o'clock, a t the age of 85 years. He was married to Mary Upah October 3, 1884 at Norway, Iowa. There were two children born to them: Julia who died in infancy, and Mrs. Emma Novak, of Elberon. They began housekeeping on a farm near Chelsea, where they lived for nine years. They moved from there to Elberon, where Mr. Blazek worked for his brother in the grocery business for ten years. He then went into the restaurant business which he carried on for 20 years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for over 50 years and a citizen of the town of Elberon for about 56 years. He and his wife were given that rare privilege of sharing each other's companionship for almost 65 years. Mr. Blazek was a man of fine character and was highly esteemed by everyone. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, and a good neighbor, and made man y good friends during his long residence in this vicinity. He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Emma, and one grandson, Floyd Novak of Cedar Rapids. Also, one sister, Mrs. Julia Kupka, and one brother, Charles Blazek of Chelsea and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 2 p. m. a t the Methodist church in Elberon. The Odd Fellow lodge had charge of the services at the graveside. Burial was in the National cemetery. Contributor: George (48419540) They married on October 3, 1884 in Norway, Iowa.
