Fisher, 81, for more than sixty years a resident of Villisca and the North Page vicinity southwest of here, died Sunday morning, just after midnight, at his home in the southwest part of Villisca, his death resulting from a stroke of paralysis which he suffered while eating supper Saturday evening. Up to that time he had apparently been in his usual health and drove his car up town two or three times that day. Frank Lafayette Fisher, son of Jacob and Margaret Fisher, was born July 25, 1860, in Henry County, Ohio. He spent his early life in Ohio, and as he was a member of a large family he conceived the idea of going west, and in January, 1880, he and his brother George came to Page county and found employment at the James Pollock home in the North Page vicinity. While in this home Frank identified himself with the United Presbyterian church of North Page. On March 13, 1883, he was married to Luella Newsam and they established their home on a farm. To this union were born three children, Fred L., Glenna Williams and Lela Helberg, all of Villisca. Mr Fisher took an active part in the affairs of his community and especially in the North Page church where he was an elder of the church and also superintendent of the Sunday school. He was treasurer and business manager of the North Page Cemetery association. His wife died Nov 30, 1918, but he continued to reside on his farm at North Page. Upon the dissolution of the church there he transferred his membership to the United Presbyterian church in Hepburn where he again responded to the call for service and was elected as an elder of the church and superintendent of the Sunday school, which offices he held until the time of his death. He was sent three times by the College Springs Presbytery to the general assembly of the United Presbyterian church at Green Castle, Pa., Washington, D.C., and Cleveland, Ohio. On Dec 15, 1920, he was married to Mrs Rose Russell and they lived on the Fisher farm until January, 1931, when they came to Villisca to reside in the home where he died. He leaves, besides his wife and children, eight grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren, one sister, Mrs Ellen Harmon of McClure, O., two brothers, Harry of Colbrook, O., and Melvin of Napoleon, O. Five sisters and one brother preceded him in death. The body was taken to the Pitman funeral home where it remained until 10 am Tuesday when it was returned to the Fisher home where a short service was held at 1 pm and the funeral held at 2 pm at the United Presbyterian church in Hepburn, conducted by the Rev John Eastwood, pastor of the United Presbyterian church at Minden, Neb., assisted by the Rev Samuel Morrow, pastor of the United Presbyterian church of Coin. The singing was by Mrs Maude Scott, and the pallbearers were Earl, Walter, Fen and Paul Fisher, Fred Graham and Roy McCorkle, with Mrs Fred Graham and Mrs Roy McCorckle in charge of the flowers. Interment was in the North Page cemetery.
