The body was taken to the Pitman Funeral Home prior to the final services and remained there until Tuesday morning. Frank Leslie Ingman was born in Michigan Township, Ashland County, Ohio, July 30, 1852 He was the youngest in a family of seven children. His parents, Edmond Ingman and Mary Naylor Ingman, were of Scotch-English ancestry. His mother died when he was 7 years old and his father died when he was 13. His early childhood days wee spent on his father's farm and after the death of his parents through the influence of a step-mother, he was apprenticed to learn the harness and buggy trimming trade. Later he took up telegraphy which he followed for a shot time and then entered the mercantile business in Bucyrus, Ohio. In 1873 he left Bucyrus and moved to Villisca, taking a position with a cousin in a general store. After 6 years he started in business for himself in the book and stationery business. After about five years seeking an occupation that was not so confining indoors, he took up faming. However, after three years he retuned to Villisca and opened a real estate and insurance office. He was married to Miss Anna Bellharz at Bucyrus, Ohio, on January 25, 1877. One child, Frank Leslie Jr, was born to this union but he died in infancy. Mr. Ingman was one of the oldest citizens in Villisca and served in various community and civic capacities. He was a member of the city council for two years, served as city clerk for three years, was secretary of the city board of education for 7 years, and mayor of the city two terms. He was an active member of the Villisca Commercial Club and took an active part in its enterprising effort. He always manifested an interest in any civic improvements and took an active part in them as long as his health permitted. Mr. Ingman is survived by his wife. Here to attend the funeral services Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hysham, and Dr. and Mrs. F. S. Schadel of Red Oak.
