RISTRIM DROPS DEAD IN POST OFFICE MONDAY FORENOON Frank L. Ristrim, highly respected resident for many years, dropped dead in the local post office about 9:30 o'clock Monday morning. He was in his usual health when he left his home in the south part of town to get his mail. He called for it and was engaged in looking it over when he suddenly fell to the floor of the lobby. Those in the post office hurried to his aid and called a physician but life was extinct. Deceased was a retired farmer who before moving here a few years ago had lived in Des Moines. When he and Mrs. Ristrim moved here a few years ago they purchased the former Al. Hengy property and this has since been their home. He leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Lacey Walker of Ten Eyck, N.J., and a son, Clifford, who resides in Idaho. Mrs. Jennie Chapman of this place is a sister. Ristrim Frank Lewis Ristrim was born in Dubuque, Iowa, June 5, 1857 and died on Monday, Nov. 11, 1935, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, 7 days. On Nov. 25, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Alma Bedford of Stratford. To their union four children were born, twins having died in infancy. Those surviving are the wife, two children, Mrs. Lacey Walker of Teaneck, N.J., and Leo of Burley, Idaho. Two sisters are also left to mourn, Mrs. Jennie Chapman of Stratford and Mrs. Lilly Johnson of Bureau, Ill. There are also three grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Ristrim was a pioneer citizen of this community, coming to this part of Iowa at an early date. His death came suddenly and without warning in the local post office where he had gone for his mail and where he succumbed without warning of a heart attack. He was a man of unwavering convictions and unafraid to assert them. His frankness and honesty were without question and many lifelong friends in the community mourn his very sudden death. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the family home and were in charge of the Rev. Paul R. Johnson, pastor of the local Methodist church.
