He never regained consciousness after the stroke. Mr. Pulkrabek had been suffering for some time from high blood pressure, but otherwise had been in good health. The funeral service was conducted Monday morning by the Rev. Father Thomas Vopatek at the Immaculate Conception church in Clutier, with burial in St. Vaclav cemetery, west of town Casket bearers were Herbert Zimple, J. J. Chalupnik, F. J. Stodola, Joe Yanda, John Sienknecht and George Bonewitz. Mr. Pulkrabek was born Dec. 28, 1865, in Bohemia, coming to America with his parents when he was 16 years old. The family located in Tama county, and the decedent worked on farms around Clutier and Traer until he bought a farm of his own between the two towns—the place on which his only son, Vince, now lives. He was married thirty-nine years ago to Anna Caslavka, who survives, together with two children, Vince Pulkrabek and Mrs. Agnes Zmolek. The latter lives in Clutier, the elder Mr. and Mrs. Pulkrabek had made their home with her since retiring and moving to town a little less than three years ago. The decedent also is survived by four grandchildren and by one brother and two sisters Joseph Pulkrabek of Traer, and Mrs. Anna Chalupnik and Mrs. Mary Husak, of Clutier.
