Description	:	Franklin David Woodard, son of George A. and Hanna Cassort Woodard was born on August 5th 1849 near Canandaigua, New York. With his brother he farmed in western New York, until the spring of 1876, when they moved to Nuckolls County, Nebraska. There he operated a sheep ranch, later going into general farming and stock raising. He lived in southern Nebraska until his death on September 28, 1940. He was married to Rebecca E. Turner on November 11, 1878. she preceded him in death of July 28th, 1940. To this union three children were born, all of whom... Read More	Franklin David Woodard, son of George A. and Hanna Cassort Woodard was born on August 5th 1849 near Canandaigua, New York. With his brother he farmed in western New York, until the spring of 1876, when they moved to Nuckolls County, Nebraska. There he operated a sheep ranch, later going into general farming and stock raising. He lived in southern Nebraska until his death on September 28, 1940. He was married to Rebecca E. Turner on November 11, 1878. she preceded him in death of July 28th, 1940. To this union three children were born, all of whom survive. He was one of the real pioneers of Southern Nebraska, coming here when everything was raw prairie. He was one of those who thought their labor and sacrifices helped make this state what it is today. He was always willing to try new methods and new crops; always deeply interested in what went on around him. He is survived by his three children; Mrs. Bernice Reed, Ernest Woodard, and Miss Alice Woodard; one grandson, Francis; all of Chester, Nebr.; one niece, Mrs. Hannah E. Mosier of Canandaigua, New York.
