Description	:	Chester Herald (Chester, NE), Thursday, August 1, 1940; pg. 5 OBITUARY Rebecca E., daughter of Andrew B. and Barbara Ann Turner was born near Fremont, Ohio, November 13, 1849. She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1855. In 1871 they settled about eight miles southwest of Chester where her father homesteaded and she became a teacher in the schools of Republic county (sic), Kansas, and Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska. Read More	Chester Herald (Chester, NE), Thursday, August 1, 1940; pg. 5 OBITUARY Rebecca E., daughter of Andrew B. and Barbara Ann Turner was born near Fremont, Ohio, November 13, 1849. She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1855. In 1871 they settled about eight miles southwest of Chester where her father homesteaded and she became a teacher in the schools of Republic county (sic), Kansas, and Nuckolls county (sic), Nebraska. On November 11, 1878 she was married to Franklin D. Woodard of Edgar, Nebr. To this union three children were born. In March, 1918, she moved with her family to a farm one mile east of Chester where she resided until her death on July 28, 1940. She is survived by her widower, three children, Mrs. Bernice Reed, Ernest F. Woodard and Miss Alice Woodard, all of Chester; one grandson, Francis O. Woodard; three sisters, Mrs. Rhonda Stewart of Lima, Ohio; Mrs. Alice Milner of Belleville, Kans. and Mrs. Geo. Mitchell of Kearney, Nebr., and numerous nephews and nieces. Mrs. Woodard was a kindly conscientious Christian woman and during her long life did many acts of kindness and helpfulness. Funeral services for Mrs. Franklin D. Woodard were held at the Chester Methodist church (sic), Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Elmer R. Peterson had charge.
