Description	:	Franklin Delano Briggs was born February 17, 1933 in Taylor County, Iowa to parents Henry Francis and Maybelle Ann (Howard) Briggs. He joined 9 siblings: Ernest Briggs, David Briggs, Emory Briggs, Hobert Briggs, Lowell Briggs, Opal (Davis) Lawson, Ralph Briggs, Floyd Briggs and Mary (Briggs) Gohn. Frank attended Taylor County schools and graduated from the 8th grade. On October 25, 1952, Frank was united in marriage to Dorothy Lucille Savage. Read More	Franklin Delano Briggs was born February 17, 1933 in Taylor County, Iowa to parents Henry Francis and Maybelle Ann (Howard) Briggs. He joined 9 siblings: Ernest Briggs, David Briggs, Emory Briggs, Hobert Briggs, Lowell Briggs, Opal (Davis) Lawson, Ralph Briggs, Floyd Briggs and Mary (Briggs) Gohn. Frank attended Taylor County schools and graduated from the 8th grade. On October 25, 1952, Frank was united in marriage to Dorothy Lucille Savage. To this union, they were blessed with four children: Rita, Annette, Carole and Jim. They made their home in Shenandoah and Frank commuted for work as a carpenter for Ray Walters, Anderson Construction and others. In 1975, they moved to Farragut and bought a home where Frank lived until his wife’s passing in 2008. He then moved to Admiral Manor Apartments in Farragut, living there for 11 years and making many dear friends. After retirement, Frank preferred to stay busy with construction projects, making elaborate doll houses for his daughters and a stagecoach for his son. He briefly worked after retirement for Earl May in Shenandoah in the carpentry department. He was talented with his hands and helped many people with projects. In August 2019, Frank entered hospice at Accura Health Care of Stanton. He passed away September 5, 2019 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters, grandson, Chad Thomas and other relatives. He is survived by his children, Rita Davis (Don) of Shenandoah; Annette Thomas (Richard) of Craig, Missouri; Carole Lane of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Jim Briggs (Pam) of Shenandoah; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; his beloved cat, Lulabelle; special friend, Mary Pierce; other relatives and friends. Frank was a good man; he was hardworking, ornery and one of a kind. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Graveside Service will be Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Guss Cemetery in Taylor County. Memorials may be directed towards the family.
