Description	:	Frank was the son of Libbious Point and Elizabeth Faust. He married Anna Layman on September 23, 1891 in Iowa. They were the parents of Ethel and Esther. They were the parents of Ethel and Esther. The Newell Mirror - Thursday , October 11th, 1934 - Frank Point, who has been a resident of Newell for more than half a century, passed away at his home here Friday morning. He had been in failing health for about twenty months, and although death came unexpectedly, it was a peaceful transition at about 8 o'clock in the morning. Franklin Libbious Point, eldest son of Libbious and Elizabeth Point, was born at Aurora , Ohio, January 28, 1867. At the time of his death he was sixty-seven years, eight months and six days of age. Mr. Point arrived In Newell with his parents February 21, 1878, and with the family settled on the section purchased by his father two years before, located four miles north of Newell. In his youth he herded cattle and helped his father. He knew the early prairie country well. On September 23, 1891 he was united in marriage with Anna Layman. Two daughters, Ethel Eloise , now Mrs. Hobbie of Mason City, Iowa and Esther Eloie of Washington, D.C , were born to this union. He was employed in various kinds of work, road work, contracting tile jobs, and for several years was connected with the Newell creamery. A few years were spent on the farm seven miles southwest of Newell. In March, 1896, the family moved to Newell. About this time he became a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias. Besides his wife and daughters he leaves to mourn his passing the following sisters and brothers: his twin sister, Mrs. Frances Rowan of Lakewood, Ohio; Mrs. Emma Thompson of Tulare, Calif., Mrs. Lilly Greenwood of Newell; Will Point of Ware, Iowa; and Nate Point of Slayton, Minn.; and a half-sister, Mrs. Niel Nieman of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, besides many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father who passed away November 16, 1902, and his mother, January 16, 1913; a sister, Amanda, January 18, 1915 ; two half-sisters, Anna Weatherall in September, 1924 , and Mary Robison in January, 1929, and by his half-brother, Henry C. Point, January 9, 1934. Services for Mr. Point were held at the Methodist church with a host of friends in attendance. The floral offerings were beautiful. Mr. Barkley in his sympathetic manner gave a beautiful sermon, appropriate music was furnished by Mrs. Ben Eno an d Lyle Smith. The pall bearers were relatives of the deceased: D.N. Layman , A. Brabam of Carroll, Clarence Bidholdt, L.E. Ellis, Lyle Smith and Axel Hemmingsen. Mrs. Larson, Mrs. D.N. Layman, Mrs. Fred Paeper an d Mrs. L.E. Couch took charge of the floral offerings. Members of the I.O.O.F. lodge attended in a body. Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mrs. Ethel E. Hobbie of Mason City, Miss Esther Point of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Frances Rowan of Lakewood, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Layman of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Will Point of Ware, Mr. and Mrs. Nate Point and sons of Syalton, Minn., Prof. Herbert Point of Russell, Minn., G.F. Hochwender of Mason City, Mrs. E. Strait of Fonda , Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hollingsworth of Alta, Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Nitzke, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Compton, Mrs. L.H . Dlugosch, Mrs. J.E. Evans, Mrs. R.C. Point, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Doxsee, Mrs. Mary Blair, Mrs. Chas. Lierick and Herman Timke, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burwell and Mrs. Ed Hines, all of Storm Lake , and Mrs. Gae Layman of Terrill.
