Frank Wygle, Butler county resident for over eighty years, passed away at his home in Clarksville Wednesday evening, November 28th, 1934. Mr. Wygle, who was nearly eighty-two years of age, had spent almost his entire life in this county. He farmed in this vicinity until fifteen years ago when he and his family moved to Clarksville. Franklin Pierce Wygle, oldest son of Corbin and Phoebe Wygle, was born at Marysville, Ohio, on January 16, 1853. A year and a half later, the family moved to near Clarksville, where he grew to manhood. On Dec. 15, 1880, he married Miss Ruth McCrery. To them one son, Edward, was born. Mr. Wygle spent his active years in farming, until fifteen years ago when he and his wife moved to Clarksville. Even after retiring, he busied himself with garden and flowers. Although he suffered for years with asthma, he was seriously ill only about a day before his passing away on November 28, 1934. His youngest brother, James, preceded him in death by only a month. He is survived by his widow; his son Edward of Clarksville; one brother Lemuel of Allison; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Mettler of Clarksville, and Mrs. Sarah Mettler, of Charles City, and three grandchildren. He will be remembered as a quiet, unassuming citizen, whose word was never questioned and whose voice was never raised against his fellow men. Within the circle of the family his real worth may be best measured. His passing takes away one of Butler County's oldest residents, as he had resided within its limits for over eighty years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with Rev. R. B. Fisher, pastor of the Community Church in charge. Interment was had in the Clarksville cemetery.
