Frank Srb was born in Bohemia December 31, 1836, and was therefore almost 74 years of age. In 1856 (or 1853) he married Marie Novotny. In 1876 they came to America. They located on a farm in Cuming county five miles northeast of Dodge. A few years later they moved to a larger farm a mile east of the home place, where they resided until 1888, when they moved to Dodge and he engaged in business. In 1895, he turned his business (probably furniture and undertaking) over to his sons (Joe and Frank J.) and retired. Mr. Srb was a charter member of the National Bohemian Cemetery Association, a member of the C. P. S. society for more than thirty years, a member of the Z. C. B. J. and Tel Jed Sokol lodges. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in Dodge..... The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the house. V. Fuks of Omaha, delivered an address in Bohemian. Mr. Kriz spoke for the Z. C. B. J. lodge at the house, and Mr. Karoik for the Sokol at the grave. We thank Mr. and Mrs. A. Cecha of Omaha, Mrs. Mary Holub, the I. O. O. F. and Rebakah lodges, members of the C. S. P. S. and Z. C. B. J. societies for beautiful flowers. _____ There are few Srb families, but BEWARE when doing genealogical research there was another Srb family 15 miles to the west at Clarkson and they appear to have had at the same time a Joe Srb and a Frank J. Srb. At times both families had descendants in the Howells area. When looking for information about a person also look at the parents, siblings, and grandparents folder because most likely there will be pictures and other information about the person. Examples: . When looking for information on Anna Srb Popelar also look in her parents folder "1859 Joseph (1859-1922) Srb & Marie Skala Srb" because there are pictures of Anna with her parents, sisters, and when camping with J.
