Description	:	Fred Onnen, a well known Akron citizen and resident of Plymouth County all his life, passed away here Saturday, September 22, 1956, after a several month illness of heart trouble, aged 57 years, 2 month and 26 days, he had been a patient of the Akron Hospital for the past few weeks. Fred Onnen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Onnen, was born in Plymouth County, Iowa, June 27, 1899. On February 22, 1924, he married Miss Margaret Jans, of Akron at Elk Point, South Dakota. They had five daughters and one son, they lived in the Akron vicinity since their marriage. Survivors include the widow, Margaret, five daughters, Mrs. Betty Kluender of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Delores Klave of South Carolina; Mrs. Mildred Lawrence of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Stella McConahie of Storm Lake, Iowa; and Miss Norma Onnen of Akron; a son, Walter of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Chris of Iowa City, Iowa; William of Elk Point, South Dakota; and Richard of Akron, Iowa; and a sister Mrs. Louise Rosenbaum, of Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Wesley Methodist Church, Reverend Chester L. Guinn officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
