Description	:	Mrs. Christian Onnen, of Westfield Township, died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Sioux City, following two operations, after a long illness. Annetta Louisa Martsfeld was born at Jever, Germany, November 10, 1859, and died February 1, 1909, aged 51 years, 2 months, and 22 days. She married Chris Onnen at Jever on May 4, 1884, and the same year they came to the United States, locating in Grant Township, Plymouth County. Read More	Mrs. Christian Onnen, of Westfield Township, died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Sioux City, following two operations, after a long illness. Annetta Louisa Martsfeld was born at Jever, Germany, November 10, 1859, and died February 1, 1909, aged 51 years, 2 months, and 22 days. She married Chris Onnen at Jever on May 4, 1884, and the same year they came to the United States, locating in Grant Township, Plymouth County. In 1896 they bought and moved to the present home-farm, two and one half miles southeast of Westfield, Iowa. There have been born to them six sons and three daughters, one son and one daughter dying in infancy. Besides the husband and children left to mourn, are her brother in eastern Plymouth County and three brothers and one sister in Germany. Deceased has been in poor health several years. She was taken quite ill last November and on January 25, this year, she was taken to the hospital for operation, but her condition was past all human aid and she survived the operation only a short time. She was a devoted wife and mother, ever faithful to her home duties, and repected by all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted by Reverend F. Meske in the Akron German Lutheran Church last Thursday afternoon, February 4 and a large concourse of sympathizing friends and neighbors were present. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery. Came to America May 14, 1884. They came into the port of Baltimore, Maryland, on the vessel Strassburg.
