Description	:	NELSON, FRED A.—Fred A. Nelson, son of Jonas P. and Caroline Nelson, was born in Kalmar Lan, Sweden, May 16, 1863. He passed away at the Geneva hospital after a lingering illness at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 26 days. He came with his family to America in 1877 and located in Fillmore county, Chelsea township. Mr. Nelson remained in his parental home throughout his life, following the occupation of farming. Nelson, son of Jonas P. and Caroline Nelson, was born in Kalmar Lan, Sweden, May 16, 1863. He passed away at the Geneva hospital after a lingering illness at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 26 days. He came with his family to America in 1877 and located in Fillmore county, Chelsea township. Mr. Nelson remained in his parental home throughout his life, following the occupation of farming. A sister Annie, the sole survivor of the pioneer family, also remained in the parental home as long as the parents lived, caring for them in their declining years and also for an invalid sister who passed away some years ago. In 19332, they relocated their home and came to live in Geneva, where they have since resided. Early in life Mr. Nelson accepted the Christian way and in 1888 was united with the Chelsea United Brethren church. Upon removal to Geneva he became affiliated with the church in Geneva and as long as health would permit, he was most faithful in attendance. His interests in the Kingdom throughout the world were ever evident and he supported these interests with his means generously. He leaves beside his aged sister, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. His memorial service was held Thursday, May 14, at the Kritner-Ashby chapel in Geneva and was conducted by Rev. Maude V. Mann of Lushton. The ministry of music was by Mrs. O .E Nelson and Donna Koahler. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
