Bormann was born to Mr. and Mrs. Friedrich Bormann, March 14, 1888, in Davison County, South Dakota, and died March 3, 1974, in the Methodist hospital, Mitchell, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 19 days. He was baptized July 8, 1888, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, march 29, 1903, at St John's Lutheran Church, Blooming Valley. He was married to Mary Krause, October 9, 1916, at Armour, S. Dak. Eight children were born to them. He began his banking career in 1919 in Beardsley, S. Dak. The bank was moved to Stickney in 1933. He received his 50-year pin in banking in 1969. He was a member of Plankinton Masonic lodge 61 AF and AM, and was active in community and civic affairs. Survivors include his widow who resides at Pleasant View Home in Corsica; two daughters and five sons: Mrs. Gladys Neugebauer of Sturgis, Vern of Parkston, Ivan of Mobridge, Earl of Parker, Marvin of Stickney, Donald and Mrs. Carol Masoudi of Denver, Colo. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ann Litz, Stickney; two brothers, John of Gladstone, Ore., and Ernest of Stickney; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a daughter, Donna; three brothers, William, Henry and Charles; and three sisters, Louisa, Katie and Mary. A memorial has been established to the St. Paul Lutheran Church building fund.
