He attained the age of 92 years, eight months and 25 days. Fred G. Kock was born on a farm four miles east of Lennox on Apr. 21, 1907, a son of George and Grace (Muller) Kock. Kock, who died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lennox on Wednesday morning, Feb. 16, 2000. He attained the age of 92 years, eight months and 25 days. Fred G. Kock was born on a farm four miles east of Lennox on Apr. 21, 1907, a son of George and Grace (Muller) Kock. He attended Sherman Rural School and grew up there. On Feb. 27, 1936, he was united in marriage to Grace Oltmanns at LaValley parsonage, east of Lennox. Following their marriage, they farmed three miles east of Lennox until Nov. of 1972, when they retired and moved into Lennox. His death ended a marriage of nearly 64 years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Joan Kock, on Jul. 7, 1970; two sisters: Minnie Bunger on Mar. 5, 1963, and Anna Valentien on Mar. 13, 1998. Survivors include his wife, Grace; four children and their spouses: Wendell and Merline Kock of Hartford, Berdine and Wayne Kock of Lennox, Loretta and Jim Pelach of Northfield, MN and Merlin and Gloria Kock of Chancellor; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerrit Kock of Lennox.
