Storm, Wyoming, Death Reported Feb. 4 Services Conducted At Zion Lutheran Church Last Friday Afternoon WYOMING- Fred J Storm, 92, died Tuesday, Feb 4, at the home of his son, Elmer, west of Wyoming. Funeral services were held Friday. Feb. 7, at 1.30 p.m. at the Zion American Lutheran church, Wyoming. Rev. Robert R. Ahrens and Rev. John Willms were in charge of the service. Mrs. Lafayette Bahnsen was organist, and accompanied Mrs. John H Petersen and Mrs. Dale Hansen, as they sang. Pallbearers Named Pallbearers were Albert Storm, Robert Storm, Delbert Jetter, George Rusk, Ervin Eden, Allen Eden. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery. Life Outlined Fred John Storm, son of John Fred Storm and Dora Storm Elers, was born March 3, 1865 near Preston. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at the Spragueville Lutheran church, April 10, 1880. His father died when Fred was two weeks old. He spent most of his boyhood and young manhood in Jackson county with the exception of a year, which he spent in Nebraska. On February 22, 1893, he was united in marriage to Anna Louise Luckstead at Charlotte. They came to Jones county where they purchased a farm one and one-half miles south of Wyoming, now known as the William Koch farm. In 1900, they purchased the farm three miles west of Wyoming, now occupied by Elmer Storm. Five children were born to this couple. In 1928 they bought their home in Wyoming. Mrs. Storm died in 1945. Mr. Storm continued living in his home alone for another eleven years. The last 13 months he had made his home with his son, Elmer. Couple had celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary 1943. Activities Told Mr. Storm served as president of the Niles district school board. He helped organize, and was the first president of the Wyoming Farmers Telephone Co. For many years he was an elder of the Zion Lutheran church, Wyoming. He was a director of the cemetery association and the Wyoming Telephone board, and served for some years on the Town council and was active in several other community projects. Survivors Named Surviving him are four children Elmer, Wyoming; Arnold, Olin; Myra, Mrs. Henry Eden, Anamosa; Nora, Mrs. August Thomsen, Wyoming; two half-sisters, Minnie Stromeyer, Spragueville, and Dora Krumwiede, Preston. E l e v en grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren also survive. Preceding him in death, besides his wife, were one son, Ira, who died in 1909, at the age of 14, one sister, Mary Sommers; one half sister, Emma Stoltz, one half brother, Otto Meyer. Those Attending Named Those attending funeral services from out-of-town were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Luckstead, Charlotte; Mr. and Mrs. John Luckstead, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gades, Welton; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Stromeyer, Spragueville; Mr. and Mrs. Asmus Stoltz, Sabula; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Eden and family, Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. George Rusk and family, Cedar Falls: Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Jetter and family, Maquoketa; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nowadsky and family, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steinocher and family, Iowa City. Other relatives attending were from Monticello, Center Jct., Anamosa, and Olin.
