Eden, age 93, of Anamosa died Tuesday evening, July 21, 1992 at the Anamosa Community Hospital, following an extended illness. Mira Dorothea Storm was born July 7, 1899 at Wyoming, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Anna Luckstead Storm. She received her education in the Wyoming schools where she graduated. She later graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) with a teaching certificate. Mira then taught in the rural schools of Madison Township, Jones County. Mira D. Storm and Henry Eden were married Feb. 25, 1920 at the Storm family home in Wyoming. The couple farmed in the Wyoming and Olin areas. They later farmed and operated a sawmill near Anamosa. In November of 1963 the couple moved to Anamosa where Henry worked at the reformatory. Henry preceded Mira in death on May 20, 1975. Mira was active in community and church affairs. She became the exercise coordinator at the congregate meals site and led the exercises past her 81st birthday. Mira is survived by three sons, Howard, Fairborn Ohio; Allen, Anamosa and Ivan, Center Junction; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; and a sister Nora Thomsen, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a son Ervin. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. July 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Anamosa with interment in the Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Jane Hagstrom officiated at the services. Casket bearers were William Carlson, Chuck Betzer, Mary Ellen Frazier, Albert Storm, Bill Cross and James White, Sr. Goettsch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
