Description	:	THOLE, FRED JOHN — Fred John, son of Herman D. and Minnie Most Thole, was born on July 30, 1897, at Ohiowa, Neb. He was baptized in infancy at the Lutheran church near Martland, Neb. He grew up around Martland where he also had his schooling. He spent most of his days on a farm near Martland. The year of 1958 they moved to Geneva, Neb., with his family. Most of... Read More	THOLE, FRED JOHN — Fred John, son of Herman D. and Minnie Most Thole, was born on July 30, 1897, at Ohiowa, Neb. He was baptized in infancy at the Lutheran church near Martland, Neb. He grew up around Martland where he also had his schooling. He spent most of his days on a farm near Martland. On January 4, 1921, Fred Thole and Hendricka Rickels were united in marriage in the Lutheran church at Ohiowa, Neb. To this union were born two sons, Dale H. and Del D. The year of 1958 they moved to Geneva, Neb., with his family. Most of his time was spent doing odd jobs and doing yard work for others. He was a lover of flowers and his garden. He was a member of the congregational church in Geneva. On December 13, 1975, Mr. Thole entered the hospital where he was called to eternal rest at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 15 days. Preceding him in death are his mother and father, and a brother, William. Those left to mourn his departure are his wife, Hendricka, and two sons, Dale H. of Geneva and Del D. and his wife of Fairmont; also his two grandchildren Richard Lee and Nancy Kay Thole. He is also survived by his sister, Rose Nolan of Vineland, N.J., and a brother, Henry Thole of Geneva, Neb., nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ at Geneva at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 1976, with Rev. Neil L. Kettering officiating. Miss Susan Najmon sang “How Great Thou Art” and “In the Garden” accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster. Pallbearers were John Bures, Lou Otte, Fred Fisher, Fred Reeb, Earl Jacox and Dean Willey.
