Description	:	THOLE, HENDRICKA — Hendricka Thole was born to Henry Rickels and Eva VanEppren Rickels on August 13, 1899, at Crab Orchard and passing away July 4, 1990, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 21 days. Read More	THOLE, HENDRICKA — Hendricka Thole was born to Henry Rickels and Eva VanEppren Rickels on August 13, 1899, at Crab Orchard and passing away July 4, 1990, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 21 days. She was one of nine children in the family. Hendricka attended school through the eighth grade in Bruning. She worked at different places in the Bruning and Geneva communities. Hendricka was married to Fred J. Thole of Ohiowa on January 5, 1921, and to them two sons were born. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ for over 5-years. She was very active in the church and also in the VFW. Hendricka was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Thole, parents, Henry an Eva; three brothers, Harry, Henry, and Bill; and two sisters, Eva and Martha. She is survived by her two sons, Dale and his wife Tenea; and Del and his wife Ricka; one brother, John Rickels; two sisters, Margaret Spitler and Mollie Weber and her husband, Harold; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva on Saturday, July 7, with the Rev. Brenda Barnes-Jamieson officiating. Evalyn Foster accompanied Kelly Eich, who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace.” Serving as pallbearers were George Cruse, Lambert Hopken, Charles Miller, George Engle, Herb Stoldorf, and Clarence Kelch. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery with the VFW Auxiliary giving their memorial service. (Source: The Nebraska Signal, July 1990)
