Description	:	Fred Sidener, youngest son of Samuel and Mary Sidener, was born at Ada, Kansas, March 28, 1895. He was out on the farm, where he loved to be, when he suddenly departed this life on Thursday morning, February 16, 1961, and went to be with Jesus. He was united in marriage to Rena Sechrist, of Ada, on August 5, 1914, where they resided until 1926, then moving to Ada, spending the last thirty-five years at their present residence. Read More	Fred Sidener, youngest son of Samuel and Mary Sidener, was born at Ada, Kansas, March 28, 1895. He was out on the farm, where he loved to be, when he suddenly departed this life on Thursday morning, February 16, 1961, and went to be with Jesus. He was united in marriage to Rena Sechrist, of Ada, on August 5, 1914, where they resided until 1926, then moving to Ada, spending the last thirty-five years at their present residence. Working hand in hand, they were blest of the Lord in many ways. He is survived by his wife, Rena, of the home, one daughter, an only child, Mrs. Eugene Mullen and her husband Eugene and two grandchildren, Michael Scott and a recently adopted grand-duaughter, Mitzi Jean. Also mourning his absence from the body are two sisters, Hattie Brion of Ada and Ura Sechrist, of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and one brother, Ern Sidener, of Minneapolis, Kansas. One sister, Alta Atchley, preceded him in death May 27, 1933. Fred faithfully attended the Slonerock Bible Chapel, having experienced the "new birth" in May, 1924. He was a member of Christ's body and the true church of Jesus Christ. The Word of God was a source of daily strength to him. He was a prominent farmer of Ottawa county all of his life and often witnessed to the fact that he was only a steward of God's heritage, as everything belonged to Christ. He loved his home and family dearly and always advised his grandson Mike to strive for the important things of life. He will be greatly missed as he was a friend to all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Fouts-Haley Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, February 18, with Brother H. R. McCoy, of Salina, officiating. Mrs. H. R. McCoy sang "Some Day He'll Make It Plain to Me," and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," with Mrs. B. E. Peterson at the piano. Pallbearers were Clarence Becker, Otis Parsons, Foster Beichley, Harlow Peterson, August Cerveny and Gary Sechrist. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery, near Ada.
