Read More	Article from Tripoli paper: DEATH SUMMONS FRED C SCHULTZ Dies At His Home in This City Tuesday Morning After Long Illness Fred C Schultz, 66, a life long resident and a pioneer businessman of this city, died at his home Wednesday morning, February 1, at 1:30 o'clock, after an illness of one year, during which time he was about most of the time, being confined to the bed the last six weeks. Frederick C Schultz was born in Maxfield township, June 25, 1866, the son of Mr and Mrs Frederick Schultz. He grew to manhood on a farm northwest of Tripoli, and received his early education in the rural and parochial schools near his home. Later he received a business training in college. On October 3, 1895, he was married to Miss Mary Buesing at Waverly. This union was blessed with two sons. Mr Schultz was for a number of years in the mercantile business in Tripoli, disposing of his business here in 1914. During the next four years the family made their home in Waverly and Allison. In 1920 he returned to Tripoli, buying the feed mill which he had maintained since. He was a member of the St Peter's Evangelical church. Fred Schultz was a man who was held in the highest esteem by all of his acquaintances. He was a friend to man and will be greatly missed by all his associates. Previous to his illness he took an active part in the civic affairs of the community, always taking interest in any welfare for the betterment of the community. His death takes from the business section one of the oldest business men. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Alfred, now at home, and Lawrence H., Batavia, N Y: one grandson: four sisters, Mrs Gustav Boeckmann, Mrs Louis Schwartz, Tripoli: Mrs Anna Ladage, Waverly: and Mrs Hulda Krueger, of Minneapolis: three brothers, John and William, of this city and Charles, at Waverly. His boyhood was spent in this vicinity and his education was received in schools of the county. On Oct 3, 1895 he married Miss Mary Buesing of Tripoli who survives him: two sons Alfred at home and Lawrence of Batavia, N Y, three brothers and four sisters. For several years Mr Schultz operated a dry goods store in Tripoli selling out in 1913.
