Frederick Raymond Aldrich was born near Monticello Aug. 30, 1895, the son of Leonard and Anna Topping Aldrich. He received his education in the Jones county schools and served in the Army during World War I. On Jan. 25, 1921, he married Ethel Kuntzweiler of Audubon. The couple farmed near Monticello for a number of years and in 1933 moved to Monticello, where Mr. Aldrich was employed as a meat cutter. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Dorothy) Howell of Kent, Wash., and Mrs. Merlin (Theona) Barns of Maquoketa; four sons, Howard of Hinsdale, Ill., Merle of Wyoming, Edward of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kenneth of Cedar Falls; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Miranda Fowler and Mrs. Hazel O'Connor, both of Cedar Rapids, and three brothers, Robert of Monticello, Charles of Cedar Rapids and Alfred of Anamosa.
