He departed this life February 13, 1963, at the Community Hospital, Beloit, KS, after an illness of several months duration which he endured with courage and without complaint. Read More	OBITUARY, The Glasco Sun, Glasco, Kansas Frederick Wallace Chapman, son of Fred and Mary Kimball Chapman, was born September 8, 1884, at the family farm home in Cloud county, KS. He departed this life February 13, 1963, at the Community Hospital, Beloit, KS, after an illness of several months duration which he endured with courage and without complaint. He was 78 years of age. As a child he received his education at the country school near his home. On September 24, 1907, he was united in marriage with Rena Beck who had been his childhood schoolmate. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1957. Two sons, Glen who preceded his father in death in 1925 and Dale. He was also predeceased by his parents and four brothers Willie, Edward, John and Roy. "Fritz", as he was affectionately known by his friends, had a kind and generous nature. He dealt squarely at all times with his fellow men. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances. Mr. Chapman spent his life as a farmer and stockman in the locality where he was born. He and his wife retired to their home in Simpson in 1959. He had been a member of Sincerity Lodge No. 214, AF and AM at Simpson since 1924. Survivors include his wife, Rena, of Simpson; one son, Dale, and daughter-in-law, Beulah, of Lamar, CO.; three grandchildren, Doris Chapman Drager of Longmont, CO., Beverly Chapman Fowler, of Walters, OK., and Allen Chapman of Denver, CO.; and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Stella Thompson, Fresno, CA., Mrs. Ethel Estes, Monrovita, CA., Mrs. Ella Babcock, Fresno, CA., and Mrs. Eunice Babcock, Salinas, CA. Two brothers: Daniel Chapman, Merced, CA., and Arthur Chapman, Salinas, CA., and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. February 15, 1963, at Dean Funeral Home, Glasco, KS, with Pastor Paul Rowoldt officiating. Singers were Clifton Francis, Linda Freeman, Patricia Finney and Robert Severance, Jr., accompanied by organist, Nadine Teasley. Pallbearers were Lyle Leinen, Paul Grittman, Loren McClintock, Frank Krizek, Robert Louthan and Henry Prochaska. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Boyd Chapman and Mrs. Bill Hoesli. Masonic services were conducted at the final resting place in Glasco Cemetery. ---
