Description	:	Funeral Held for Fred Wentz Wednesday Funeral services for Fred Wentz, who passed away Saturday July 3, at the rest home in Coleridge at the age of 63, were conducted Wednesday afternoon of this week at the Hengstler Chapel. The Rev. H.F. Beebe, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lyle Overholt, Fred Wulff, Al Wingert, Vern Bartling, Charles Bartling and Joe Dobry. Fredrick William Wentz, son of Peter and Elizabeth Wentz, was born Feb. 5, 1891 at Tripp, S.D. When a small boy he moved with his family to Naper, where he grew to manhood. On Oct. 14, 1912 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary L. Tuttle at Bonesteel, S.D. To this union nine children were born, two of whom preceded him in death. They lived at Winner, S.D. for a few years. They homesteaded at White River, S.D. From there they moved to Creighton in a covered wagon. They have made their home here for the past 35 years. On Feb. 13, 1950 he was baptized, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and united with the Methodist Church in Creighton. He had been in failing health for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Wentz of Creighton, seven children, Mrs. Mildred Rasmussen of Plainview, Ralph Wentz of Wahoo, James Wentz and Earl Wentz of Omaha, Shirley Beach of Norwalk, Calif., Leslie Wentz in the Army, stationed in Germany and Kenneth Wentz of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Henry Wentz of Carter, S.D.; four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Schanefelt of Dallas, S.D., Mrs. Carrie Lindstrom of Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. Emma Hoffman of Yakima, Wash. and Mrs. Mary Hudson of Gregory, S.D.; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Grace, who died in infancy and Viola (McCormick), who died June 1, 1940.
