Description	:	Freeman L. Jones, 87, of Rugby and formerly of Flora, ND, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 28, 2012, 2:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock with Pastor Lu Mathison officiating. Burial will be in the West Minnewaukan Free Lutheran Cemetery, rural Minnewaukan. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home an hour before the service. Freeman Lyle Jones was born November 6, 1924 to Elmer, Sr., & Betsy (Sogge) Jones near Maddock. He attended grade school in Aurora Township, rural Maddock. Freeman worked as a farm laborer for most of his adult life until suffering a stroke at age 50. He then lived in Flora where he enjoyed taking care of his yard and doing some mechanic work. Freeman enjoyed music, loved playing guitar and singing. The past ten years he resided at the Heart of America Medical Center Long Term Care in Rugby spreading cheer and happiness among the staff and residents. Freeman loved people and was also fond of dogs. Everyone who knew him, loved him. He will be sadly missed Surviving are a brother: Elmer Jones of Maddock; a sister: Donna (Jerry) Fillner of Madison, WI; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Francis, Russell, Lennis and Dalen Jones; sisters: Fern Odden, Eunice Swenson, Carol Solberg and Shirley Rolle.
