Description	:	The funeral for Dalen Jones, 68, of Maddock was held at Zion Lutheran Brethren Church in Maddock. Interment was in the West Minnewaukan Free Lutheran Cemetery. He died April 21, 1998 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Pastor Jerry Boerner officiated. Vi Jorde was organist & Renee Gilderhus & Paul Odden were vocalists. Military rites were accorded by the Robert Tovsrud VFW Post 757 of Harlow. Pallbearers were Curtis, Dan, Ken, Palmer Jr., Paul & Roger Odden, Greg Rolle & Terry Solberg. Dalen Ray Jones was born Sept. 13, 1929 in Aurora Township of Benson County southwest of Minnewaukan to Elmer & Betsy Sogge Jones.He attended school in the area & worked as a farm laborer in the Erie & Arthur areas. He served with the US Marines in Korea. He married Marion Rosendahl Sept. 1, 1957 at the Viking Lutheran Church near Maddock. He worked with a grain elevator construction company & later as a mechanic for the Maddock Farmers Union Oil Co. He farmed near Flora & worked for Richard Pope & John Scott. He retired in 1996 due to ill health. He was a member & past president of the Flora Lutheran Church & was a member of the Robert Tovsrud VFW Post 757 of Harlow. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Maddock; a daughter, Doreen Kay Jones of Maddock; 2 brothers, Freeman Jones of Flora & Elmer Jones Jr. of Maddock; 2 sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Wayne) Rolle of Maddock & Donna (Mrs. Jerry) Fillner of Madison, Wisc. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Francis, Russell & Lennis; & 3 sisters, Carol Solberg, Eunice Swenson & Fern Odden.
