Description	:	Frieda Korb was born March 11, 1908 in Boyd County, Nebraska, near Naper to Henry and Magdalena (Wetzler) Korb. When she was two, the family moved to a homestead in Tripp County, South Dakota, about 26 miles southwest of Winner. Read More	Frieda Korb was born March 11, 1908 in Boyd County, Nebraska, near Naper to Henry and Magdalena (Wetzler) Korb. When she was two, the family moved to a homestead in Tripp County, South Dakota, about 26 miles southwest of Winner. Frieda grew up on the farm there, attending rural school through grade 8 and helping with farm work. Her father died after a brief illness when she was 12 years old. Frieda was united in marriage to J. George Giske at her mother's farm home on June 3, 1930. During the early years of their marriage Frieda and George lived on the homestead of his parents near Dixon, South Dakota. They eventually moved to a farm of their own, south of Gregory, South Dakota and in 1948 moved into Gregory. When her five children were grown, Frieda worked as a nurses' aide at the hospital in Gregory for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away in 1972, her brothers Henry and Theo and her sister Clara. Survivors include three daughters and two sons, nine grandchildren, two brothers, Gottlieb of Gregory and Alfred of Winner, and one sister, Margaret Meyer of Clearfield. Frieda and Margaret had enjoyed an especially close relationship. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Gregory, where she was an active member.
