Hestermann, who was taken to Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln, Nebr., on Tuesday, died there at nine o'clock Wednesday morning, October 25, 1966. Her age was 61 years, 9 months and 27 days. A year ago she was stricken with cancer, and throughout the months of her illness she never complained, but dedicated the last days of her life to thoughtful deeds for others. She was a shining example of faith and courage to her family and her friends. Frieda Pauline Anna, daughter of J. G. Rulla and Martha Lehrack Rulla, was born Dec. 28, 1904 at Sterling, Nebr. She was baptized by the Rev. Sick of St. John Lutheran chruch south of Sterling on Febr. 5, 1905, and was confirmed by the Rev. Herman Wunderlich in St. John American Lutheran church in Sterling on Sept. 7, 1919. She was reared at Sterling, attended school here and graduated with the class of 1922. She taught school for three years and also helped organize the English Sunday school at St. John American Lutheran church when the Rev. Julie Moehl served the congregation. On October 11, 1927 she was married to John T. Hestermann by Pastor Moehl. Their home was blessed with five sons and five daughters. One infant son, her parents, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. She underwent major surgery on Oct. 26, 1965 at Bryan Memorial hospital in Lincoln and was found to have an incurable malignancy. With knowledge of her condition she continued her work during the past year concerning herself with the welfare and needs of others rather than herself. As Pastor Rust said, "After teaching the members of her family how to live, she now taught all those who knew her how to die." She is survived by her husband , John; four sons, Floyd of Sterling, Robert and Marvin of Lincoln, Eldon of Eagle; five daughters, Mrs. Arlo (Delores) Wittstock of Afton, Iowa, Mrs. Dwight (Alyce) Weiss of Burr, Mrs. John (Martha) Menard of Hickman, Janice Peden of Lincoln, and Barbara, at home. There are also 23 grandchildren; one brother, Landis Rulla of Sterling; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Straube and Mrs. Hilda Remmenga of Sterling, Mrs. Clara Kimball of Lincoln and Mrs. Edith Decker of South Haven, Mich.; one aunt, Mrs. Augusta Cooke of Scottsbluff; many cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in St. John American Lutheran church with the Rev. Kenneth Rust officiating. Mrs. John Goldenstein was organist. The congregation sand "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less," "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" and "Oh, Take My Hand, Dear Father." Burial was in Sterling cemetery
