Description	:	Friedrich J. Schroeder was born November 25, 1887, at Wyoming, Jones County, Iowa, the tenth child of Joachim and Christine Hansen Schroeder. He moved with his parents, two sisters, and seven brothers to a farm in Crawford County, Iowa in 1888. When his parents retired to a home in Schleswig in 1907, he and three brothers, Cornelius, Thomas, and Herman, stayed in the farm home and continued to farm the land. Read More	Friedrich J. Schroeder was born November 25, 1887, at Wyoming, Jones County, Iowa, the tenth child of Joachim and Christine Hansen Schroeder. He moved with his parents, two sisters, and seven brothers to a farm in Crawford County, Iowa in 1888. When his parents retired to a home in Schleswig in 1907, he and three brothers, Cornelius, Thomas, and Herman, stayed in the farm home and continued to farm the land. Fred married Adela Marquardt on November 20, 1912 at Denison, Iowa. Adele, the daughter of Peter H. and Minnie Gehring Marquardt, was born November 10, 1890 in Crawford County. Their only son, Freddie, helped on the farm until his death in 1944. He was 29, leaving a young wife and a four month old son. Fred and Adele lived on the Schroeder "homeplace" for a number of years before moving to a farm in Hayes Township, Ida County. They then moved to a home in Denison, Iowa in 1948 where they spent their retirement years. Adela died June 16, 1968 at the age of 77 and Fred on December 5, 1969 at the age of 82.
