Fengel, 89, son of Julius and Myrtle Gale Fengel was born October 9, 1899 at Villisca, and passed away at the Stanton Hill Convalescent Hospital at Castro Valley, California on November 15, 1988. As a young man, Gale worked in the plumbing business for Matt Dickenson, the Ewing Grocery Store and Bakery. On August 4, 1940, Gale was united in marriage with Laura M. Raney at Gale’s parents home in Villisca. They made their home at Fort Dodge, Iowa, where Gale worked in top body shops in the area. In 1942, they moved to San Leandro, California, where he worked in the shipyards during World War 2. Following the war years, Gale became a sheet metal worker, a job which he held for 24 years until his retirement in 1966. Gale and Laura were members of a gem and mineral club for 28 years, two choral groups, a travel and culture club. Gale was a 55 year member of the Odd Fellows. He was preceded in death by his parents, tow sister, Marie Herrick and Verna Baker and two brothers, Reul and Clark Fengel. Gale is survived by his wife, Laura; two brothers, James and wife Lea of Scranton, Iowa and Glenn and his wife Edna of Villisca, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
