Description	:	Gale Dolch, 90 Gale Walter Dolch, 90, of Atlantic, a lifelong Cass and Montgomery County farmer, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Heritage House in Atlantic. Gale Walter Dolch was born to Walter and Laura (Shafer) Dolch Jan. 21, 1921, on the family farm in Noble Center Township. After attending country school, he graduated from Grant High School in 1939. Read More	Gale Dolch, 90 Gale Walter Dolch, 90, of Atlantic, a lifelong Cass and Montgomery County farmer, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Heritage House in Atlantic. Gale Walter Dolch was born to Walter and Laura (Shafer) Dolch Jan. 21, 1921, on the family farm in Noble Center Township. After attending country school, he graduated from Grant High School in 1939. In 1941, he attended aeronautical school in Lincoln, Neb., where he trained as a mechanic. Gale was married to Maxine Bode May 27, 1942, in Omaha. Gale and Maxine farmed in the Cass/Montgomery County area until retiring in 2002. Their union was blessed with three sons, Stephen Gale, Vincent Clark and Wesley Mark. Gale enjoyed picking corn by hand, working on machinery, raising Angus cattle, ATV pulls, rodeos and especially took pleasure in his work horses. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and enjoyed traveling to many states, Canada and Africa. In recent years, his greatest joy has been his grandchildren. He loved attending their sporting events and FFA activities. Preceding Gale in death were his parents; sister, Bernice Adams; brother, Boyd; a sister in infancy; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Elsie Bode. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Maxine; sons, Stephen (Linda) Dolch, of Morton's Mill/Villisca, Vincent (Becky) Dolch, of Elliott, and W. Mark (Priscilla), of Story City; grandchildren, Matthew (fiancée, Bryttni Westlake), Michael, Marshall, Mikayla, Clark, Jared, Dylan, Loren (Laura), Kara (fiancé, Justin Griggs), and Dana Dolch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Betty and Dula Thompson, of Lewis; and sisters-in-law, Arlene Jahnke, of Atlantic, and Janet Dolch, of Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. The committal service will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis. Rev. Jason Zaiger, of the Atlantic Church of Christ, will officiate. Open visitation was Saturday, Sunday and Monday and will also be Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., before the family will meet with relatives and friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday. Memorials may be designated to the family for distribution. Roland Funeral Service of Atlantic is caring for Gale's family and the arrangements.
