First to be recovered was that of Garrison D. Becker, whose body was discovered above the dam by Fred Schrunk and Paul Wells, both of Millville, on Friday afternoon. Recovered Monday The other to be recovered was that of Veryl Minger, whose body was seen in the water about 7:00 a.m. Monday by Frank Schoenauer; a member of the staff of lock and dam No. 10. It later was picked up by Melvin Dahlstrom and Elmer Schrunk of Guttenberg and J. E. Galer and Charles B. Payton, railroad men from Oelwein who were here on a fishing expedition. Convene Jury A coroner's jury, convened by County Coroner E. W. Tuecke and composed of L. W. Abel, Fred Schrunk and Lester Lorenz, handed down a verdict of accidental drowning in Minger's death. A coroner's jury composed of L. W. Abel, Jess Moser and Melvin Dahlstrom, heard evidence in the death of Becker and found that he, too, died as a result of accidental drowning. Final tribute was paid to Garrison D. Becker at graveside rites in charge of Rev. Wm. Domres, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church. The rites were held at the Guttenberg city cemetery in charge of the Steger funeral home. Born Near Millville Garrison Doyle Becker was born on a farm near Millville on July 15, 1913, the second son of John H. and Carrie Noack Becker. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church here, being confirmed April 1, 1928. On September 29, 1934, he married Ruth Garkow at St. Paul's church and the couple made their home on a farm west of Millville. Mr. Becker is survived by Mrs. Becker and his parents, as well as one brother, Oakland, of Millville township.
